5-Time PGA Tour Winner
During the summer of 1965, Danny Edwards noticed some men walking around the high school football field with bags hitting small white balls with some kind of short metal rod. When he asked what they were doing they said," hitting golf balls"! Later that summer he noticed an older man with a bushel basket full of those golf balls hitting them with several boys. The man said "do you want to hit some”? Danny said “sure”. Six months later Danny got a set of clubs for Christmas and played at Weeks Park in Wichita Falls, Texas where his family was visiting an uncle. After shooting a 43 on his first ever nine holes on a course, the Pro asked if they had fun and what did you shoot? Danny said 43 and the Pro said how long have you been playing? Danny said this is my first time to play a course! Danny said the pro looked at him like he was from Mars! And that started a journey”! There were no golf courses in his hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma or golf professionals to learn from, but three years later as a high school senior, Danny won the Oklahoma State High School Golf Tournament and a career was born!

"Before I was guessing. All feel. Now I am getting 80% up and down around the greens."
Ronnie Lindeskov, PGA
"This is what I was looking for.. some kind of a system. And this is what The Chipping Equation & Danny taught me. Now I'm very happy."
My players have improved so much. They finally have a way to practice and a game plan over each shot. They are able now to see and measure the results. All of my players up and down percentages have improved."

During his career as a PGA Touring Professional, Danny found time to start several small businesses including Executive Golf Outings (EGO), a first class corporate golf school business, as an entertainment and incentive vehicle for companies. EGO also did snow skiing, fly fishing and tennis events, all at top five star resorts around the US, Ireland, and Scotland. As a collegiate golfer at Oklahoma State University and PGA Tour player, Danny knew that most golf grips wore out quickly and were made of low quality “rubber ingredients”. In 1988 he founded Royal Grip Inc. to provide a high quality “injection molded” grip that would last for years and maintain its “tacky” feel. Danny initially funded the business as well as marketing the product to golf courses and golf club companies with the tremendous success he had with PGA Tour players using and endorsing his product. The company grew by leaps and bounds reaching $15 million in sales in just 5 years and earning him the distinction as “Entrepreneur of the Year” for manufacturing in Arizona. A very successful IPO (initial public offering) followed before merging the company with Precision Shaft Company. Danny remained on the Board of Directors of Royal/Precision, Inc. for two years before returning to competitive golf and the Champions Tour in 2001. He continued to compete there at a high level even though being completely away from tournament golf for 5 years.
Danny’s love for sports cars and racing provided the motivation to compete in SCCA Formula Ford class for several years winning Two Midwest Division National Championships and close to half the races where he competed. By the way, it should be no secret, that the same dedication and commitment that drove Danny to the top of professional golf helped him rise quickly to the top in business and auto racing. Commented Danny's longtime friend, Chris Kaufmann, "I was aware that Danny Edwards was a formidable amateur road racing champion with the SCCA even before we became friends. In the late '80's our Ford Sponsorship expanded and we had a seat available in one of our Pro Racing Mustangs. I invited Danny to join us for some practice sessions, thinking I could put him in our 3rd car as kind of a promotional effort. Pro Golfer goes Pro Auto Racing. Kind of Man bites Dog. Danny took to our faster cars like a Duck does to Water. We worked with him to gain his Professional License and threw him right in the deep end. Within a few Races Danny was making Podiums and running not only with the best drivers on our team, but at the top of the pack. I thought we were doing him a favor and he ended up doing us a favor. His athletic ability and driver skills fit perfectly into our Endurance format where drivers often spent 2 or three hour shifts in the car with several races going 24 hours. Years later, with his mentoring me on the golf course allowed me in my 40's to Pass my P.A.T. on the first attempt to become a PGA Golf Professional. Trust me when I tell you, Danny had a much harder task than I did. It was such a pleasure to race with Danny. He learned the tracks quickly and pitched in working on the cars as we prepared for a race. His mental acuity and competitive spirit that he had attained playing on the challenging PGA Tour, served him well in a sport that often has much more than a two stroke penalty for a mistake. In fact, one mistake in Professional Auto Racing at the speeds we race, can be your last”!
“I have been very fortunate throughout my lifetime to have met and spend time with all the great professional golfers of my era as well as numerous titans of industry. The uniqueness of PGA TOUR golf Pro-Ams and Corporate Outings allowed me to begin relationships with these highly successful business innovators who’s genius I could draw on for my own business success. I realized early on, that reaching high goals in my golf and business career, would require seeking out, trusting and implementing wisdom and ideas from successful experts. My goal is to share some of these ideas with others in an effort to help them feel the satisfaction of reaching their goals”.
